SO! I've been pretty slack with the club as of late. However, now that my art display at school has been completed, I have a little time to work on this sort of stuff.

I appologise for missing Halloween with you guys. We could have had a lovely costume art competition, but alas, down here in the Land Down Under, we don't celebrate Halloween. So it didn't really cross my mind. INSTEAD! I would like to offer you a different holiday themed competition.

Now, we've already had a Christmas comp'. So this year, I was thinking we could do a New Years competition! Before we go into details about this, I would like to remind people to read the RULES listed bellow. Thank you.

This theme means that you can draw one or as many Loonatics characters as you like celebrating New Years. They can be partying, dancing, being showered by confetti, partying and dancing beneath a shower of confetti, discussing New Year's Resolutions, or it can be a simple portrait involving a party-hat and the words 'HAPPY NEW YEARS' written somewhere on the piece.

Like before, we'll also accept fanfiction entries involving a New Year's theme.

I need the submissions to be sent to this account via note. It's how I asked for submissions to be sent to me during the last contest and and the contest before that and it will be how I ask for submissions to be sent to me in future contests. So send me a note, NOT a message on the club's home page.

This is because as soon as I reply to a message, it disappears from my inbox, whereas notes tend to stay put so I can access them when it comes to voting time. And don't send it to my other dA account, ~XtreamCrazy. I'm not going to log on at LU-Crew to start collecting the submissions, then log off and back on as XtreamCrazy just to collect a few submissions that should have been sent to the LU-Crew, before logging off as XtreamCrazy and logging back on as LU-Crew. Do you see this dilemma?

Alright, just like the last few times, I will to post some rules and guidelines that I would like for you folks to follow. If you do NOT follow these rules, then your piece will be excluded from the voting. Is this clear? I know that there are a few people out there who don't bother taking notice of these rules, but unlike the last few competitions, if you have failed to follow these rules, I will NOT give you the opportunity to re-enter another piece. Clear?

THESE ARE THE RULES:

Rule 1- No overtly mature content stuff. I know we have a few older people in our clubs, but I don't want any gore or any sexual inclinations or anything like that. Let's make these contest HAPPY and FAMILY FRIENDLY competitions. Although, seeing as this contest consists of New Years (which is largely celebrated by drinking) I will allow alcohol-related pieces. 83

Rule 2- For thi particular contest, NO ORIGINAL CHARACTERS WHATSOEVER. Understand? NO OCs. If you DO put an OC in your submitted entry, you will be disqualified from the contest and I will NOT give you a chance to draw a second picture. If anyone DOES draw an OC, I will know that they did NOT observe the rules and I will be INCREDIBLY irritated. T_T

Rule 3- Only ONE submission per person. I don't want to run the risk of asking people to vote for 5 pictures by the same person that have similar themes to one another. If at anytime you have decided that you're unsatisfied with your entry, you can simply withdraw it and replace it with a new entry rather than submitting both entries. However, I will permit people to submit an art entry AS WELL AS a fanfiction entry if they wish to do so.

DEADLINE IS NEW YEARS EVE AUSTRALIAN TIME! (those in the Northern hemisphere, that means the day BEFORE New Year Eve)

No hatin'. I'm convinced that the LU-haters have settled down and formed a peaceful atmosphere with us fans, though. However, if we hear of hater-talk anywhere near the crew... -violent gesture-
